Classifications are used by the payroll system to determine employees' service and leave entitlements.
Each classification has a corresponding and unique one-letter and one-digit, or two-letter classification group. For example, a secondary teacher on a current employment agreement has a classification group of S2.
Check your staff usage and expenditure (SUE) report to make sure your employees have the correct classification.
If an employee isn't on the latest classification group, it's likely they won't receive their full service and leave entitlements.
