Deciles divide schools into 10 groupings where decile 1 schools are in areas of greatest socio-economic disadvantage and decile 10 schools in areas of greatest socio-economic advantage.

How it works

Principals in decile 1-4 schools, bound by the appropriate CA or employed on a Ministry promulgated IEA, receive this payment additional to their base salary.

How do I apply?

The Ministry calculates this allowance and it is paid automatically to principals who meet the allowance criteria.
