In addition to their base salaries, principals may be eligible for other payments as specified in the appropriate Collective Agreement or Ministry-promulgated Individual Employment Agreement.
These components if applicable are added to the principals remuneration and reviewed annually.
School boards of trustees are required to report on remuneration paid to the principal in the school's annual report by the Education Act (section 87(2)(ca)(iv)).

A leadership payment is made to principals in recognition of the work they do to develop, lead, and implement programmes across the curriculum for the benefit of their students. »»»
The staffing incentive allowance is an allowance for teachers, and primary principals who work in schools that have staffing incentive status. »»»
