Retirement savings schemes

KiwiSaver is the only retirement savings scheme open to state sector employees as at 1 October 2008.

State sector employees’ retirement savings schemes that are closed to new members are the:

• State Sector Retirement Savings Scheme
• Teachers Retirement Savings Scheme
• Government Superannuation Fund
• National Provident Fund
• Individual Retirement Plan.
