About this form
Use this form to apply for a Māori immersion teacher allowance (MITA) for teaching staff.
When to use this form
Use this form to apply for a Māori Immersion Teacher Allowance (MITA) for teaching staff who:
- are employed under either the Area School Teachers' Collective Agreement or the Area School Principals' Collective Agreement
- are full-time permanent, official job-share or full-time long-term relieving
- deliver the curriculum for at least 6 timetabled hours per week in approved immersion programmes at Māori immersion levels:
- 1, 2 or 3 if they are a teacher; or
- 1 or 2 if they are an area principal
- hold current registration (either Full, STC or Provisional) or a current Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).
What you will need to complete the form
You will need the teacher's:
- MOE number
- personal details
- NZTC registration number or LAT number (copies of LATs must be provided with application)
- immersion hours per week.
