About this form

Use this form to apply for a Māori immersion teacher allowance (MITA) for teaching staff.

When to use this form

Use this form to apply for a Māori Immersion Teacher Allowance (MITA) for teaching staff who:

• are employed under either the Area School Teachers' Collective Agreement or the Area School Principals' Collective Agreement
• are full-time permanent, official job-share or full-time long-term relieving
• deliver the curriculum for at least 6 timetabled hours per week in approved immersion programmes at Māori immersion levels:
  - 1, 2 or 3 if they are a teacher; or
  - 1 or 2 if they are an area principal
• hold current registration (either Full, STC or Provisional) or a current Limited Authority to Teach (LAT).

What you will need to complete the form

You will need the teacher's:

• MOE number
• personal details
• NZTC registration number or LAT number (copies of LATs must be provided with application)
• immersion hours per week.
