Christchurch pay centre closed for Canterbury memorial
The Christchurch pay centre will be closed today, Friday 18 March 2011 so that employees can attend the Canterbury memorial service.
For payroll queries check the website in the first instance then contact the ESPC Service Desk on 0800 733 772 if necessary.

How you can help
Once again, we'd like to thank those schools and individuals who understand the pressure the payroll service is under following the Christchurch earthquake. Everyone in New Zealand has been affected in some way by the disaster, including the people who answer your phone calls and work to resolve your payroll queries.
We're pleased to say that most of our callers don't need to be reminded that the person at the end of the phone, or reading your email, is doing the best they can in these current circumstances. Please try to be patient and don't take out your frustration on them.

Early closedown pay period 2326
A reminder to all schools that pay period 2326 has early closedown dates as it is the final pay period in the tax year. This is an annual occurrence and allows Datacom to process the tax end of year.
Paper instruction closedown was 5pm Friday 11 March 2011.
E-Reliever instruction closedown was 3pm Tuesday 15 March 2011.

Salary Assessment Unit
The Salary Assessment Unit (SAU) is part of the Christchurch pay centre.
NZ Post is now delivering mail to PO Box numbers in Christchurch.
You can resume posting your applications to:

Some of the salary assessment applications sent to the SAU between 21 February 2011 and 15 March 2011 may not have been received due to the Canterbury earthquake.
Check whether salary assessment applications sent by employees (including relievers) of your school have been received here.
Please be patient with us and be aware that the 15-day turnaround may not be met while the SAU works towards becoming fully operational.

The Christchurch pay centre is working towards becoming fully operational.
Datacom's Service Desk in Wellington (ESPC) are continuing to assist the Christchurch pay centre in managing the payroll.
